Top 10 Best Ways To Build Your Email List
E-Mail technology is evolving everyday and it has simply because its users want, and desire, quick responsive feedback. In today’s society, we want things NOW in real-time, and email is the preferred method of marketing by many of us that have online businesses, as well as many traditional businesses. We can let our customers know about new products, new training tips, but more than anything we can build our value over time to our prospects. That’s when leads become prospects, and turn into sales.
When I started out marketing online I didn’t understand the whole “value” concept, so please don’t make the mistake I did. Start working on your email list now with trying to give your readers tons of “value” with your content.
Why do I keep talking about value and how can you offer it to your subscribers? I’ve learned that if there are people searching for help on a certain topic, or area of interest, I can research that topic to the best of my ability and try to solve their problem or answer their question. Try to do so in your blog posts, pages, comments, social media shares, and especially to your email list.
In order to build a solid email list, try to think of an area of focus on your blog or a central theme, and “give away” as much free information as you can in order for your readers to subscribe to your list.
Are you new to blogging and don’t have any information to offer to your list? You can borrow other systems information such as MLSP or Empower Network which I have used for content and they both were very effective. However, once you reach a certain point on your website, you will want to brand YOU, and your own content so I put together a list I hope you will find helpful.
Here are the Top 10 ways to build up your email list to do email marketing for any blog/website/product.
1. E-Mail Subscription Form
This is the foremost and easiest way to get subscribers and their e-mail addresses. Just create some killer content and convert your visitors to subscribers by placing a e-mail subscription form wherever it has the best opportunity to attract as many subscribers as possible.
To attract new visitors and convert them into subscribers, just announce a giveaway of a quality product (Ebook, Tips, Tools, Software) for free and put the subscription option as mandatory field to “get the free stuff”. When the value goes up, the better chance you will have at gaining a new email subscriber.
3. Discount Incentives
Offer some coupon codes for the products that you market often and to keep your viewers updated, put a subscription box under the coupon code or else make the subscription option as required field to view the coupon codes in the future.
4. Pop-up Plugin
There are some of free and premium plugins and codes available that pop-up and ask visitors to provide their e-mail id for the latest updates, offers you have, and/or newsletter subscription. I’m not a huge fan of these personally, and find them to be quite annoying. These appeal to the hard spammers in my humble opinion, and they have a “get an email at all costs” mentality. I’ve always focused on quality, not quantity, and have missed out on a bigger list, but that’s just my preference.
5. Encouraging Visitors To Comment
At the end of each and every post, ask your visitors to comment with their opinions and suggestions. In most comment forms such as Comment Luv plugin or Disqus there is already an e-mail field that is mandatory and it can be used to increase your email list.
6. E-Book Publication
Try to publicize an electronic book (e-book) on your field of expertise and ask subscribers to download by providing their e-mails. If your blog is about network marketing, try to be relevant with tips for recruiting etc. Relevancy is key here
Creating forums is another good way to build huge e-mail lists in very small amount of time. Most forums ask you for your email address, and people expect to do this as well. This is a viral and powerful way to build your email list.
8. E-Mail export from social networks
Your email list can also be increased by exporting your friends e-mail ID’s from social networking sites into CSV files for transferring friends to another social network. It is available on most social networking sites, including Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Caution here to focus on value added content, not salesy as this will get you dropped in a hurry from your overall list. Use common sense, and try not to spam your audience with a constant sales pitch.
9. Subscribe to Download Options on Your Content
If any of your content has a downloadable link available, just integrate this option (subscription box) to retrieve the download link and add their email addresses to your mailing list.
Last, but not least. This way is very useful in building an email list and getting feedback from readers as well. Open a survey to tell them about your work and put the e-mail id field as mandatory to get feedback and increase your email list size.
I hope you find this list of tips helpful, and I will focus on ways to get better optins on my next post as well as show you some of the better giveaways or funded proposals out there that you can use on your site if you’re new to blogging.
