Is Switching to Prepaid Wireless Worth It?
Switching to prepaid wireless is something that American’s are doing more and more these days. Mobile users have grown tired of contracts, convoluted rate plans, and the common perception that the big cellular providers treat their users like a number. I know that’s how I feel. For me, switching to prepaid wireless came as a result of someone showing me Solavei wireless and their customer referral program.
Switching to Prepaid – My Personal Experience
I ended up switching to prepaid wireless a few months ago, cancelled my contract with Verizon only to be charged for two months of service that I didn’t use! Seriously…and they could care less when I told them about it. I cancelled the service over the phone, changed numbers on a few plans, but Verizon didn’t put in the cancellation. I was hit with early termination charges, and ended up costing me $700 in termination fees to make the switch to prepaid, plus the cost of some new phones.
But it was totally worth it!
Switching to Prepaid Wireless – How much Can You Save?
For starters, switching to prepaid wireless with Solavei will save me around $1800 per year for 5 phones just as a consumer.
Solavei is also now compensating me over $2,000 each month in residual income from the Solavei Wireless referral program.
Why are More People not Switching to Prepaid Wireless?
For many nevertheless, switching to prepaid wireless scares them to death. I just don’t get it to be honest. I’d like to ask them…What has your cellular phone company done for you lately? Globally, over 80% of all cellular subscribers use prepaid wireless service. In the US, however, 80% of subscribers are under contract with 2 year agreements. Why??
Most people look at switching to prepaid wireless as a negative or a sign of someone with no credit. They also see contract carriers like Verizon or AT&T offer discounted phone prices upfront, only to charge almost twice as much as what they would pay by switching to prepaid or significantly more over the life of the contract. Do you really think that phones are “Free”?
Verizon vs Solavei Prepaid Wireless
For example, Verizon has an unlimited Talk, Text, and Data plan for around $100 per month, but Solavei Prepaid Wireless has an Unlimited Talk, Text, and 4G Data plan for $49 a month. No gotchas, no overage charges. It’s just $49 a month. That is a $600 a year savings by switching to prepaid from Solavei Wireless…on ONE phone!
But Verizon will sell you a Galaxy S3 for only $199 versus what someone switching to prepaid would pay to use with Solavei Wireless and the T-Mobile network. When I switched to Solavei prepaid wireless I bought a used Galaxy S3 for $300, but most of the time they are between $350-400. Brand new they are around $550 on Ebay or Amazon.
So let’s do the math on switching to prepaid and compare Solavei Wireless vs Verizon for Costs for One User for this scenario.
Worst case scenario you buy a brand new Galaxy S3 for $550. You would pay an extra $350 for the phone upfront. Ouch! However, I would save $600 on the rate plan the first 12 months, and $1200 over the 24 month contract period.
In my case however I will save $3600 over 24 months with my family. Furthermore, I love the Solavei Wireless referral program. It’s paying my mortgage already, and growing everyday.
