I wanted to share a quick story with you about a lady that stands on the exit where I turn to go home. I live off a busy intersection of I-40 and I-75 just west of Knoxville,TN and their are 3 truckstops off my exit so its VERY busy. Now before you think I’m not sympathetic to homeless people, or people that need help, I share this with you because this woman has some MAD skills!! 🙂 She’s there almost everyday, my kids wave to her, and has been for over a year with the same sad face, with the same sign that she can’t find a job, and can conjure up tears instantly with a face you can’t resist unless you’ve seen her “work ethic”. My point is she “shows up” everyday and “works” several hours asking for money!! (She exposes her “business”)
At any rate, this weekend she stepped it up a notch and she was working multiple cars, got money from one, and another held money out the window yet she was too late to get to it. She threw herself to the ground, rolled over, crying hysterically and there is always a line of cars to get off the exit, so many people noticed. Guess what?? More people felt sorry for her, so she raked it in even more because she made an attempt to be seen, and draw attention to herself!! Now I will occasionally give her money and I’m not trying to make fun, that’s just this womans occupation, and she puts herself in an undesirable position to improve her financial situation.
We sometimes think negatively of Network Marketing, and we wonder “What will they say if I show them my network marketing opportunity? Do you think HE or SHE would EVER be interested in my MLM business?” YOU just might have the solution to their company’s increase in sales, increase in referrals, change their personal financial situation, or simply give them “hope” by working on themselves through personal development. You just never know who you will impact with a kind word, a nice card, a gift, or a suggestion to take a look at something that could truly change their life. It has mine and I’m truly grateful someone showed me the opportunity. I was looking but without a personal touch from someone I knew, I wouldn’t have considered joining ANY Network Marketing Company.
Sometimes life gives you hard knocks like the weathered lady off my exit, and I don’t suggest you resort to doing what she does, but she is an example that sometimes we have to do some “uncomfortable” things to achieve our desired result. A little less TV, a few phone calls to expose our service or networking opportunity, working out when it hurts our muscles, eating healthier when we want the chocolate or chips, or getting up on Sunday to make it to Church to hear a good sermon and surround ourself with quality people. The “little things” are easy to do, but also easy not to do. Try to incrementally change your daily habits to achieve those things you know that you’d like in your life. Your family, your body, and your bank account will thank you for it!! 🙂 Have a super week!
